Intended Audience
This qualification has been specifically designed for those working within a health and social care setting, such as support workers or care workers, and have a responsibility for the safe handling and administration of medication. This qualification is also perfect for those looking to refresh their knowledge.
Course Overview
Over this one-day course, learners will gain an understanding of the safe handling and administration of medication, understanding the benefits and risks of taking and/or not taking medication, legislation and guidance for the safe handling and administration of medication, requirements for patient confidentiality, common types of medication, different legal classifications of medication, different routes for the administration of medicines, roles and responsibilities in the use of medication, preparation, storage and safe disposal of medication, the requirements for recording the use of medication, and much more.

Assessment Methods
This course is assessed by a multiple choice question paper where you must achieve 14 correct answers from 20 in a 30 minute period.
Certification
Successful learners will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Safe Handling and Administration of Medication (RQF) Certificate within 21 days of completion.
